Politco Poll Gives Ige 12 Point Lead

HONOLULUThe most recent poll numbers released today in Politico, http://www.politico.com/morningscore/, and conducted by nationally recognized pollster Global Strategy Group, show Democrat David Ige earning 45 percent of the vote to his Republican opponent’s 33 percent, and the Independent candidate with 10 percent.

“This poll result is a direct reflection of so many volunteers on every island who have worked on our authentic grassroots community building campaign which began 17 months ago with little money,” said Democratic candidate for Governor David Ige. “We must keep sharing our message one voter at a time to ensure our hard work results in victory on Tuesday, November 4.” For the General election, Ige has signed the Campaign Spending Commission’s Voluntary Campaign Expenditure limit of $1,597,208. His Republican opponent did not sign the spending limit forms.

The poll was conducted for Hawaii Forward, a Democratic Governors Association-backed independent expenditure group. Six hundred registered voters were polled between October 3-8, and the poll has a margin of error of +/- four percent.
