Lt. Governor Attends 2013 State of OHA

Honolulu – Lt. Governor Shan Tsutsui was among several dignitaries who attended the 2013 State of Office of Hawaiian Affairs (OHA).  Former U.S. Sen. Daniel Akaka delivered the keynote address at the annual meeting, which was held at Central Union Church. “Always an inspirational speaker, Sen. Akaka spoke about how our state’s diversity is our strength and how we need to find common ground in order to move forward together. I truly appreciate the value in working collaboratively for the betterment of our state,” said Tsutsui.  “The State of OHA is an important event that marks the milestones of the Hawaiian community as well as  discusses what we all can do together to build a stronger future for the people of Hawaii.” OHA Chairwoman Colette Machado and CEO Kamanaopono Crabbe also spoke at the event. More than 500 people were expected to attend.  This year’s theme was Kukulu Hou I Ka Hale O Mauli Ola…Rebuild the House of Mauli ola. No widget added...
