Laborers’ Local 368 Endorse Ige

HONOLULU – Senator David Ige picked up an endorsement from the Laborers’ International Union of North America Local 368. The union represents approximately 5,000 active and retired workers from industries including construction, environmental remediation, maintenance, fencing, golf courses and jobs in state, local and municipal government such as U.S. Postal Service mail handlers.

“Our endorsement of Democrat David Ige for Governor is a stand for Hawaii’s working families,” said Local 368 Business Manager/Secretary Treasurer Peter Ganaban. “David Ige will be a Governor who understands and listens to the needs of working men and women across the state.”

Local 368 Political Director Gino Soquena said, “David Ige is a strong voice for the people of Hawaii and we are proud to give our Union’s support to him as someone who grew up in a working class family.”

“I am very thankful to Laborers’ Local 368 for their endorsement,” Senator Ige said. “The diverse hard-working members that make up this organization drive many different sectors of our local economy and I thank them for their commitment to Hawaii.”

Senator Ige has also received endorsements from the Hawaii State Teachers Association, Hawaii Government Employees Association, Sierra Club of Hawaii, International Longshore and Warehouse Union Local 142 and Iron Workers Union Local 625.
